Michelle Kondrich and Lesley Ash both graduated from Hastings College in 2004, with BA degrees in Studio Art. They presented their thesis exhibitions simultaneously at the Hastings College Gallery in May 2004.

"Telling Stories" includes illustrations prepared for publication, personal artwork, images from a book-in-progress and video animations.

Michelle Kondrich is a commercial artist and animator specializing in editorial and book cover illustration. Her work has been recognized by The Society of Illustrators, the Society for News Design, and the National Association of Real Estate Editors. Her work was also featured in The Washington Post's annual Portfolio of Illustration in 2018 and 2019.

Michelle grew up in Ainsworth, NE. Her illustrations have appeared in media outlets such as The New York Times, The Washington Post, The Atlantic, Medium, Vox, NPR and NBC News. She lives and works in the Washington, DC area where she also works as a graphic designer for Georgetown University.

Lesley Ash is a mixed media artist and animator currently based in North Carolina. After Lesley graduated from Hastings College she gained her MFA from the University of Cincinnati in 2011. Her specialized skills include ink/digital illustration, immersive installations, and 2D animation. Lesley has exhibited her work in New York City, Los Angeles, Berlin, throughout the Midwest, and she served as an International Artist-in-Residence at the Hungarian Multicultural Center in Budapest.

Lesley works as a freelance animator and graphic designer, primarily working with musicians and independent filmmakers. In 2012, she launched an online shop, QuirkyNerdyNifty, which sells apparel, greeting cards, and other merchandise with her designs.
